Stolen items or suspected stolen items are something that can’t be investigated by the Adverts Team and needs to be investigated by the Gardaí.
If you see an item you believe to be stolen on the site, please contact the nearest Garda station. You will need to give them the sellers username as well as a copy of the ad.
We have more information on the user, but all such information is bound by the Data Protection Act. The Gardai can get access to this information by submitting a request for information under section 8 of the data protection act by post:
Adverts.ie, 4th Floor, 19-22 Dame Street, Dublin 2
We will then work directly with the Gardai to have the stolen item returned to the rightful owner.
