Adverts.ie welcomes listings from commercial sellers and traders. However, if you are operating in a commercial or professional capacity — including as a sole trader, partnership, or company, or if you are selling goods in order to make a profit — you are considered a Trader on Adverts.ie and must comply with the rules set out below.
- You are considered a Shop or Trader if any of the following apply:
- You are selling goods on a continuous, repeated, or high-volume basis
- You are selling new or unused goods sourced for the purpose of resale
- You are selling goods in order to make a profit
- You are representing a sole trader, partnership, or company
If you are unsure whether you qualify as a Trader, we recommend seeking independent legal or accounting advice.
Registering as a Shop or Trader
Traders must contact Adverts.ie before listing to register as an authorised shop account. To register, please contact us at support@adverts.ie.
In order to be approved as a shop on Adverts.ie, you must provide:
- Full contact details of your business including business name, address, and phone number
- A verified VAT number, CRO number, or proof of registration as a sole trader on solocheck.ie (where available)
- Details of any relevant trade organisations or authorisation schemes applicable to your business
We will only approve a Trader account where one of the above forms of verification can be confirmed.
Payments and Distance Contracts
Adverts.ie does not process payments on behalf of shop accounts or buyers, and does not facilitate the creation of distance contracts on the platform. All transactions are concluded directly between the buyer and the seller outside of the Adverts.ie platform.
As a Trader or shop account, it is your responsibility to ensure that your own sales processes comply with all applicable distance selling obligations, including consumer rights to cancellation, refunds, and warranty. Further information on these obligations is available from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission at www.ccpc.ie and the Citizens Information website at www.citizensinformation.ie.
